SeaLink SEQ is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic HSE Coordinator to join our team on a part time basis. We're seeking a candidate available for 3 days per week, however we're open to discussing alternative arrangements that meet the equivalent hours. Equivalent to 0.6 FTE (Full-Time Equivalent).
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a few years of experience or a recent graduate in WHS to grow their career in a supportive and dynamic maritime environment.
About the Role
As our HSE Coordinator, you'll play a key role in helping maintain a safe and compliant workplace. You'll work closely with experienced leaders, crew, and stakeholders to learn and contribute to the implementation of our Safety Management Systems.
What You'll Do
- Support the maintenance and improvement of HSE Safety Management Systems
- Promote a safe working environment and assist with risk management processes
- Help conduct incident investigations and follow up on corrective actions
- Participate in site visits, inspections, risk assessments, and audits
- Assist with monitoring training needs and emergency preparedness drills
- Stay informed on WHS, Environmental, and Marine legislation
- Help administer the online safety management system
- Join the HSE Committee and contribute to safety initiatives
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Eager to learn and grow in the HSE field
- Organised and confident in working with teams
- A strong communicator – both written and verbal
- Holds a Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS (or working towards it)
- Has some experience in HSE (e.g., internship, graduate role, or 1–2 years in a similar role)
- Trained in Incident Investigation (preferred)
- Familiar with WHS and Environmental legislation and ability to interpret applicable legislation
- Knowledge of Marine legislation is a bonus, but not essential
