Support Worker (Female) – Mental Health Focus

Location: Donnybrook Area

About the Role/ Job description

Grace Quality Care is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Asian (who speaks Hindi/Punjabi) support worker to assist a 9 year old participant with complex ASD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide transport to and from school, locally
  • Provide in-home support (light cleaning , general assistance).
  • Assist community access; accompany participant group activities if possible.
  • Support confidence and social engagement while managing mental health respectfully.
  • Follow a participant-led routine.
  • Maintain accurate shift notes in line with NDIS reporting and Grace Quality Care's privacy policies.

Essential Attributes

  • Must be Hindi speaking Female worker
  • Strong understanding of mental health support, including trauma-informed care and social isolation management.
  • Patience, emotional resilience, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Awareness of participant rights, dignity, and privacy.
  • Clear communicator (both verbal and visual cues).

Requirements

  • Current Australian driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Proof of work rights in Australia (citizenship, residency, or visa with work rights).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • COVID-19 vaccination in line with public health requirements.
  • Completion of the NDIS Orientation Module (or willingness to complete before starting work).

Desirable

  • Experience or qualification in mental health, social work, community services.
  • Familiarity with community resources and services .
  • Must have experience with ASD clients
