About the Role

As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school's facilities and grounds are maintained to a high standard, supporting a safe and engaging learning environment. Reporting to the Principal, Business Manager, or nominated delegate, you will perform a variety of tasks that are routine in nature, with regular supervision for non-routine duties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining school grounds, including mowing, watering, and soil care, as well as garden and lawn maintenance.
  • Performing general repairs and maintenance of facilities, furniture, and equipment, including swimming pools and outdoor sporting facilities.
  • Supporting security duties such as locking and unlocking buildings and maintaining security systems.
  • Assisting with event preparations, including arranging furniture and managing waste disposal.
  • Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, including safe storage and handling of chemicals and equipment maintenance.

This role would suit a proactive and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and contributing to the success of a vibrant school community.

About You

  • Experience in groundskeeping, facilities maintenance, or similar roles.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
