About the role

ABOUT THE PRACTITIONER ROLE

  • Deliver in person trauma-informed support to early childhood educators in the Barwon region of Melbourne, reflective practice, and professional guidance to help build safe, supportive learning environments for children affected by trauma.

  • Conduct trauma-informed assessments in kindergartens and early childhood education settings, developing and reviewing tailored service plans in collaboration with educators and stakeholders.

  • Provide recommendations on strategies to strengthen children's emotional and social regulation, pro-social skills, and school readiness, while supporting educators in applying trauma-informed approaches.

  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, working independently to ensure high-quality service delivery aligned with program goals, timelines, and budget.

  • Support referrals, guiding educators and services in connecting vulnerable children and families with appropriate community, health, and education supports.

  • Collaborate across sectors, fostering partnerships with schools, allied health, family services, local government, and state departments to enhance support for children and families.
