Man About Town is a boutique formalwear shop specialising in the hire and sale of suits, tuxedos and accessories for weddings, formals, and special events. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service, quality products, and a welcoming atmosphere.

We are looking for a reliable and friendly Casual Retail Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping customers look their best, has great people skills, and is available one/two weekdays plus Saturdays. All training is provided.

About the Role

As a Casual Retail Assistant, you will support the day-to-day running of the shop and ensure every customer has a smooth and positive experience. No formalwear experience required.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Greet customers and provide a warm, professional in-store experience
  • Assist customers with fittings, styling advice, and product recommendations
  • Answer in-store and online enquiries

Fittings & Measurements

  • Take accurate measurements for hire and sales (full training provided)
  • Assist with basic hems and garment preparation (training provided)

Store Presentation

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and visually appealing shop floor
  • Ensure suits and accessories are presented neatly and professionally

General Support

  • Assist with inventory checks and stock organisation
  • Help prepare suits for pickups and returns
  • Support basic admin and online order enquiries when needed

About You

  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
  • Confident, well-presented, and personable
  • Strong communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Interest in fashion or formalwear is a bonus
  • Must be available Saturdays and one/two weekdays
