About the Department

The role of the Department of Education is to support Victorians to build prosperous, socially engaged, happy and healthy lives. It does this by supporting lifelong learning and healthy development, strengthening families and helping to equip people with the skills and knowledge for a 21st century economy and society.

About the Division

The School Provision and Establishment Division leads strategic oversight of programs and services that have a strong interface between the Schools and Regional Services Group and the Victorian School Building Authority. The division's key functions include planning to meet Victoria's growing student population, end-to-end support for establishing new schools, meeting the compliance requirements for school registration, and supporting equitable enrolment policies.

About the Role

By supporting schools and regions to implement consistent policies and processes, the team helps ensure that every Victorian student can access a quality education.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leading the development and delivery of project plans, workstreams and implementation approaches to support system-wide change.
  • Collaborating with regional, central and other stakeholders to facilitate practical implementation of policy and process.
  • Managing project timelines and risks, and providing regular advice and reporting to executive sponsors.
  • Leading stakeholder engagement across the Department, including preparing high-level project briefings, presentations and communications for internal and external audiences.
  • Providing policy and operational advice to ensure systems reflect legislative requirements and support schools effectively.
  • Preparing and reviewing communications to ensure alignment with broader departmental policies, strategies and change processes.
  • Refining business processes, policy artefacts and system functionality in preparation for future phases of rollout.
