Job Description

Be the commercial voice at the table.As Commercial Finance Business Partner, you'll turn numbers into insight, insight into action, and action into results. Working side-by-side with leaders, you'll shape strategy, uncover opportunities, and drive performance in a business that's growing and transforming fast.

Reporting to the General Manager of Commercial Finance, you'll be a trusted partner to your divisions, turning financial data into clear, commercial insights that drive performance and growth. You'll build strong relationships with leaders across the business, immerse yourself in their world, and deliver sharp financial planning, modelling, and performance reporting. From steering monthly results to leading budgets, forecasts, and bespoke analysis, you'll shape strategy, highlight opportunities, manage risk, and empower operational teams to make confident, data-driven decisions.

This position is a full-time, permanent role based in our Melbourne CBD office.

Qualifications

Technical & Analytical Competencies:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis – ability to prepare, interpret, and explain financial reports (CA/CPA required).
  • Budgeting & Forecasting – building and managing rolling forecasts, annual budgets, and variance analysis.
  • Financial Modelling – scenario analysis, sensitivity modelling, and investment appraisal.
  • Performance Measurement – setting KPIs, tracking progress, and linking metrics to strategic objectives.
  • Data Interpretation – extracting insights from large data sets, spotting trends and anomalies.
  • Cost Management – cost driver analysis, margin improvement, and resource allocation.

Commercial & Strategic Competencies:

  • Business Acumen – understanding the organisation's products, markets, competitors, and value drivers.
  • Strategic Thinking – linking financial data to long-term business strategy.
  • Decision Support – evaluating options, providing evidence-based recommendations.
  • Risk & Opportunity Assessment – identifying and quantifying risks, proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Value Creation Mindset – focusing on growth, efficiency, and profitability opportunities.
  • Commercial Negotiation Support – assisting in pricing, contracts, and investment decisions.
