The Role

You will own the finance engine for a portfolio of partner businesses and turn activity into insight that leaders act on:-

  • Produce management reports with variance analysis and clear, actionable commentary
  • Build and run budgets, rolling forecasts, and scenario models linked to drivers and KPIs
  • Maintain cash discipline through 13-week forecasting and short and medium horizon planning
  • Prepare covenant, board, and shareholder packs that stand up to scrutiny
  • Coordinate year end to a clean audit and timely statutory deliverables
  • Guard accounting policy and revenue recognition; resolve complex recognition issues
  • Strengthen ICFR with practical documentation, testing, and remediation
  • Standardise processes across entities without dulling entrepreneurial momentum
  • Turn D365 and Power BI into automated journals, clean reconciliations, and useful dashboards
  • Coach non-finance leaders to read cost centre reports and act on them
  • Support integrations, systems uplift, and post-deal stabilisation across the network

About You

You combine controller-grade discipline with a builder's curiosity. You can drop into the ledger to fix a reconciliation, then step out to shape a forecast that guides hiring and investment. Calm under deadline. Clear and concise in your communication. Confident explaining accounting policy to commercial leaders and holding a line where it matters. You care about data quality, you document decisions, and you leave processes simpler, faster, and more reliable than you found them.

Skills & Experience

  • Solid grounding in financial control and reporting across multiple entities
  • Proven planning and analysis capability with a practical, commercial lens
  • Strong grasp of cash flow, month end, and year end fundamentals
  • Comfortable with modern ERPs and business intelligence tools
  • Clear communicator who can influence and upskill non-finance stakeholders
