Refrigeration Technician

QTS, a division of Winequip, is a leading equipment and product supplier to the wine and beverage sector. Continued expansion has resulted in us seeking a new refrigeration technician to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will be based in our Melbourne office.You will also be required to travel and assist in servicing interstate markets particularly NSW, SA and Queensland.

Equipment serviced includes glycol chillers, cold rooms, refrigerated conveyors, fruit processing machinery, and other critical cooling systems. The role ensures optimal temperature control, food safety compliance, and system efficiency across diverse customer sites. Some servicing/commissioning work on other non-refrigeration equipment can also be expected.

You will form part of our growing technical team; however, you will also be required to work closely with our sales team and service team manager to ensure that our clients are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.

Full training on our equipment range will be provided.

The successful applicant will have experience including:

• Install refrigeration units, pipework, valves, and associated cooling infrastructure.
• Commission chillers and refrigeration systems in line with OEM guidelines and food safety requirements.
• Pressure test, evacuate, and charge systems using approved refrigerants per ARCtick standards.
• Perform regular checks on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, and
• refrigerant circuits.
• Clean and inspect system filters, fans, and coils to ensure optimal performance and hygiene.
• Diagnose faults such as refrigerant leaks, pressure drops, flow restrictions, or electrical issues related to refrigeration.
• Ensure all work complies with ARCtick, EPA, and workplace health and safety regulations.

Qualifications and skills required in this role include:

• Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
• ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence (mandatory)
• Experience with industrial refrigeration in food, beverage, or manufacturing sectors
• Valid driver's licence
• EWP, confined space, or forklift tickets advantageous
• A strong commitment to customer service
• Strong organisational skills
• A team player with good verbal and written communication skills
• Computer & Phone literate
• Local and interstate travel required.
