About the role

We are seeking a part-time SMSF Accountant to join our team at R J Sanderson & Associates Pty Ltd in Dandenong. This role is integral to the success of our Superannuation team, as you will be responsible for providing high-quality accounting and advisory services to our Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF) clients.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare and lodge annual SMSF financial statements and tax returns
  • Provide strategic advice to SMSF trustees on investment, estate planning and retirement planning matters
  • Assist with the establishment and wind-up of SMSFs
  • Liaise with auditors, financial planners and other professional advisors to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Attend to client queries and provide excellent customer service
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in SMSF legislation and best practices

What we're looking for

  • CA or CPA qualification in Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in SMSF accounting and advisory services
  • Excellent technical knowledge of SMSF legislation, including the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act and the Income Tax Assessment Act
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills
  • Proficient in the use of SMSF administration software, such as BGL and other accounting tools
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with industry changes
