Position Overview:The Roster Administrator is responsible for the effective and efficient scheduling of staff to ensure adequate coverage across all services while aligning with operational needs and employee availability. This role plays a critical part in maintaining continuity of care and service delivery by managing rostering systems, responding to short-notice changes, and coordinating with internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and update rosters for support staff across multiple sites/services.
  • Ensure rosters comply with industrial instruments, client agreements, and organisational policies.
  • Monitor staff availability, leave, and shift preferences to optimise rostering outcomes.
  • Respond to changes or gaps in staffing, including short-notice shift replacements.
  • Liaise with managers and team leaders to ensure rosters meet service delivery requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records in rostering software and associated systems.
  • Communicate roster updates and changes promptly to staff and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the onboarding process by ensuring new staff are added to rosters appropriately.
  • Assist in tracking attendance and escalate recurring absenteeism as required.
  • Provide administrative support related to rostering and workforce planning.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Proven experience in rostering or scheduling in a similar environment (healthcare, community services, aged care, NDIS etc.).
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.
  • Sound knowledge of awards, enterprise agreements, and shift compliance principles.
  • Competency with rostering software (e.g. Shiftcare, Deputy, RITEQ, Humanforce, AlayaCare, etc.) and MS Office Suite.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the disability, aged care, or community services sector.
  • Knowledge of NDIS requirements and workforce compliance standards.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year

Licence/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)
  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
