Job Title: Technical Business Analyst

Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, mortgage operations, credit/risk, and technology teams to gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements.
  • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications, process flows, data models, and user stories.
  • Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Analyze existing mortgage systems, identify gaps, and recommend solutions for process improvements and automation.
  • Support system design, integration, and implementation of mortgage platforms, LOS (Loan Origination Systems), CRM, and core banking systems.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation including BRDs, FRDs, Use Cases, and data mapping.
  • Conduct impact analysis for regulatory and compliance changes related to mortgage lending.
  • Partner with QA teams to define test cases, validate solutions, and ensure requirements are met.
  • Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and provide end-user training/documentation where necessary.
  • Monitor post-implementation performance, resolve issues, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 2+ years in the mortgage/home lending industry.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage processes (loan origination, servicing, settlement, securitization, compliance).
  • Proven ability to create detailed business and technical documentation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and tools (JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
