We are casting our line for a Category Manager – Fishing at BCF (Boating, Camping, Fishing), to lead the strategy for one of our most iconic and exciting categories, shaping the ranges that inspire Australians to cast, catch, and explore.

What you'll be doing

As the Category Manager in our Fishing category, you'll own the full product lifecycle — from concept to customer.

  • Own end-to-end category strategies that drive growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Source and negotiate with passionate trade partners to deliver ranges that balance innovation, value, and performance.
  • Use data and insights to analyse trends, identify new opportunities, and optimise pricing and promotions.
  • Drive category performance through strategic decision-making and smart financial management.
  • Champion compliance and sustainability, working with suppliers to uphold high environmental and ethical standards.

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience as a Category Manager, Buyer or Merchant within a retail environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate insights into actionable category strategies.
  • Experience working with local and international suppliers, with a knack for negotiation and relationship management.
  • A collaborative, curious mindset and the ability to engage cross-functionally to get things done.
  • A genuine passion for all things fishing is advantageous for this role.
