Structural Project Engineer

As a result of continuous national growth, LAI Group is seeking multiple Structural Project Engineers to join our team at our new state-of-the-art facility in Direk within our Structural Division. Schedule

Full-time

A 38-hour week (Monday – Friday + reasonable overtime).

Salary/Wage (Negotiable - Experience, knowledge, and ability will be taken into consideration).

The Position

Assist project team and the design team in the design & construction of Structural Steel, ensuring the architectural, structural and performance intents of the client's designs are satisfied.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of ITPs, ITRs & MDRs.
• Coordinate and oversee the design of structural projects internally and externally
• Manage the project schedule, ensuring it's on time.
• Communicate with internal divisions to assist with project timeframe and quality.
• Manage cost tracking of projects to ensure they are within budget.
• Safety in design.
• Prepare and submit payment claims.

The Candidate

• Excellent communication skills, customer service skills, coupled with effective trouble shooting skills.
• A strong technical background ideally in structural steel or a manufacturing environment.
• Experience and knowledge of project management principles.
• Establishing, managing, and reporting on project schedule, delivery, and stake holder management.
• Advanced computer skills, predominantly with Excel, and Microsoft Project.
• Ability to interpret drawings.

Desired Competencies

• Project/Construction Management tertiary qualification or similar
