The Opportunity

Contract - 12 months, with potential for extension

We're seeking a Senior C++ Developer with strong systems-level experience to join our engineering team. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing a complex codebase, resolving existing issues, and architecting new modules that support evolving business needs.

This is an ideal opportunity for a developer who thrives on debugging intricate systems, writing clean and performant code, and contributing to scalable software design.

What You'll Do

Codebase Stabilisation & Enhancement

· Investigate and resolve existing bugs and performance bottlenecks in a large-scale C++ system.

· Refactor legacy components to improve maintainability and reliability.

· Ensure code quality through rigorous testing and documentation.

Module Design & Development

· Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement new software modules.

· Translate technical requirements into robust, production-ready C++ implementations.

· Integrate new features seamlessly into existing architecture.

Collaboration & Best Practices

· Work closely with architects, DevOps, and product teams to align on technical goals.

· Apply modern C++ standards and best practices (C++17/20) to ensure code efficiency and safety.

· Contribute to continuous improvement of development workflows and system observability.

What You'll Bring

· Proven experience in C++ development for production systems.

· Strong understanding of memory management, multithreading, and performance tuning.

· Experience debugging complex systems and resolving critical issues.

· Familiarity with modern C++ standards and STL.

· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

· Experience working in microservices or modular architectures is a plus.

Additional Requirements

Successful candidates will be required to sign a general NDA and, where applicable, per-project NDAs.
