About the role

We are seeking passionate Casual On-Call Mini School Bus Drivers to join our team at Ace Buses in Bundamba, Ipswich, QLD. As a Casual On-Call Mini School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting special needs students to and from school each day. You will operate with a Student Supervisor on the bus whose role is to assist with the students.

The role is a maximum of 20 hours per week, split shift engagement.

What you'll be doing

  • Safely operating a mini school bus to transport special needs students to and from school each day
  • Ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers for the duration of their transport
  • Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
  • Performing pre-check inspections of the vehicle to maintain safety and cleanliness
  • Providing excellent customer service to students and their families
  • Communicating effectively with the office, Student Supervisor, school staff and parents as needed

What we're looking for

  • A current and valid open LR or above driver's licence, with a good driving record
  • Drivers Authorisation (Industry Authorisation) or be willing to obtain. (they can be obtained through the Department of Transport and Main Roads)
  • Ability to operate company technology
  • Experience driving a minibus, or a 22-seater bus or similar-sized vehicle
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well with children
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety
  • A flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of our school routes
