About Us
Erim Downs Feedlot is one of Western Australia's largest and most advanced cattle operations, managing both feedlot and pasture-based systems. We are seeking experienced and motivated Livestock Farm Workers and Senior Farm Workers to join our team at Warradarge.
About the Role
You will be part of a professional and dedicated livestock team responsible for the daily care, feeding, and management of cattle in both feedlot and paddock environments.
Senior roles will also involve supervising junior staff, coordinating feeding and animal health programs, and supporting operational planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle and monitor cattle safely and humanely during feeding, drafting, weighing, and loading.
- Observe animal behaviour and health; identify and report issues such as lameness, illness, or injury.
- Mix and deliver feed rations using tractors, loaders, and feed wagons.
- Maintain feed and water systems, yards, pens, troughs, and fences.
- Administer animal health treatments as instructed by supervisors or veterinarians.
- Record livestock data, including weights, treatments, and daily feeding logs.
- Operate and maintain farm and feedlot machinery (tractors, loaders, mixers, etc.).
- Assist in general property maintenance, fencing, and pasture management.
- (For senior staff) Supervise and train junior workers in safe livestock handling, feeding, and maintenance routines.
- (For senior staff) Oversee compliance with animal welfare, biosecurity, and workplace safety procedures.
Skills & Experience
- Previous hands-on experience in cattle farming, feedlot operations, or livestock production.
- Sound understanding of animal husbandry, feeding, and welfare practices.
- Competence in operating agricultural machinery and performing basic maintenance.
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- (For senior positions) At least 3 years of full-time livestock experience, with proven supervisory and record-keeping ability.
- Relevant qualifications in Agriculture or Feedlot Operations (Certificate II, III or above) will be highly regarded.
- Current driver's licence required; machinery or loader ticket desirable.
