The position
As our new Distribution Designer, you'll be an essential part of a team of top-notch specialists who turn ideas into reality for our clients. You'll be working with a vibrant, multi-disciplinary crew on a variety of projects in Tasmania. Your ideas won't just be heard—they'll be celebrated
Your Role Will Include:
- Overhead distribution design modelling (415V to 33kV)
- Underground distribution extensions
- Underground distribution network upgrades
- Site inspections including preparation of design packages for client approval
- Preparation of bills of materials and estimations
- Training and support of junior team members
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Applying local utility standards
- Demonstrating design innovation and cost optimization as part of the design process
- Scoping notes
- Survey work onsite
Qualifications and Skills:
- Advanced Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering; or
- Demonstrated experience with local power utilities (TasNetworks)
- Ability to work independently
- CAD Software proficiency in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Map
- 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical design of distribution networks

- Strong electrical design skills, particularly in TasNetworks distribution networks
- Substation installations
- Ground line profiling
- Quality Assurance Reviews
- Ability to work well with others to deliver as a team
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Inquisitive nature and desire to grow your career
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to think logically and to use initiative in identifying and solving problems
- Must hold a current Driver's Licence
- Must already be living in Australia with full working rights
