Job description:

At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners - from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.

  • Ongoing Full-Time Role
  • Location Wollongong with the flexibility to work from different regional office locations
  • Package includes salary $99, $110,271.00 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

  • Maintain project and contract systems, financial data and information using relevant software applications and corporate systems including electronic filing system
  • Prepare end-of-month financial closing activities such as preparing journals
  • Assist in reconciliation of end of month financial data collation
  • Undertake asset capitalisation of project expenditure
  • Provide internal business support services to ensure program delivery
  • Receive and respond to customer enquiries via phone, email and face to face

About you

  • Self-motivated individual with experience meeting tight financial deadlines
  • High Level communication skills
  • Experience with Financial data extraction and reporting
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience in end-of-month finance processes
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Experience in providing high quality, customer focused business support in a fast paced, collaborative team environment
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • NSW Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
