Primary Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and test plumbing systems in residential and commercial settings.
  • Assist licensed plumber with drainage, water supply, gas fitting, and sanitary systems.
  • Interpret plans and specifications for plumbing layouts and installations.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Follow Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and WHS protocols.
  • Record job details including time, materials, and site conditions (often via apps like ServiceM8).
  • Report hazards, incidents, or equipment issues promptly.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
  • Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
  • White Card (Construction Induction).
  • A team player with a great attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to grow with the business and take on responsibility.
  • Professional conduct, punctuality, and respect for supervisor, clients and colleagues.

Training & Development

  • Completing Certificate III in Plumbing through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
  • Where relevant, attend off-the-job training and provide evidence of progress.
  • Maintain apprenticeship logbooks and competency records.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings and ongoing skill development.

Supervision & Work Conditions

  • Work under supervision of a licensed plumber and/or Proprietor.
  • Where competent, perform tasks independently.
  • Rotate across varied job sites and working conditions.
  • May be required to travel or work overtime/weekends.
  • Supportive team environment with experienced tradespeople.
  • Ongoing mentorship to help you complete your apprenticeship.
  • Exposure to a wide range of plumbing systems and projects.

Skills & Requirements

  • Completion of Year 10 (Maths & English preferred)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Responsible attitude toward timekeeping and safety.
  • Physically fit for manual work and tool handling.
  • Ownership of the basic plumbing tools to be used on-the-job.
  • PPE ready: boots, hi-vis, gloves, glasses, hard hat.
