- Salary Package: (HEW Level 3, Step 1), $68,553 p.a. (pro-rated), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
- Appointment Type: Continuing, Part-Time (0.6 FTE - 21 hours per week) | ASAP Start
- Location : Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde
We are looking for a self-motivated team member to support the day-to-day movement and maintenance of technical/camera equipment in the Macquarie Faculty stores. The role is designed to ensure services run efficiently and effectively, as well as providing support to the wider Technical Services team.
Key Accountabilities:
- Process the equipment and room booking system for the Faculty's Technical Services unit, by preparing, issuing, and checking in equipment and rooms as required
- Ensure bookings and equipment movement details are accurately recorded and stored, and the movement of equipment is conducted efficiently and with a high level of customer service
- Provide basic operational advice to and conduct demonstrations for authorised students and staff in the use of technical equipment in / from the Technical Services store, escalating the advice and demonstration to more specialised technical staff as require
- Undertake regular checks of equipment, including performing minor repairs as required, and ensure functionality, cleanliness and safety of equipment and the stores premises
- Logistically support the regular testing and tagging of technical equipment and ensure all appropriate records are maintained
- Support the Technical Services staff in demonstration, movement and handling of equipment and use of related facilities as required
- Handle all materials in accordance with relevant safety regulations and remain current in WHS regulations, procedures and processes
- Contribute to the capture and update of Faculty asset records on university systems, as well as media handling using Avid Nexis
- Respond to, follow up, resolve or escalate enquiries related to the faculty store, working with the Manager of Technical Services and stakeholders to resolve enquiries or issues
- Comply with relevant EEO and WHS regulations
- Perform any other duties as required and appropriate for this classification
About You
With a keen interest in technology, you will be able to demonstrate your strong customer service skills by providing technical support and service to Macquarie Staff and Students. The role requires initiative, problem solving, excellent communication skills and would be a great opportunity for someone looking to broaden their aptitude and experience using technical equipment within the industry. The right candidate will receive on the job training, including specific systems training and ongoing hands-on support from the wider Technical Services team.
