We're seeking an experienced Associate Clinical Nurse Consultant to join the Prison Health Services team at Maryborough Correctional Centre. In this role, you'll provide advanced clinical expertise, leadership, and support within a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, recovery-focused mental health care to individuals in custody. You'll contribute to service development, education, and quality improvement in a specialised correctional health setting.

Your Opportunity:

• The Associate Clinical Nurse Consultant is a Registered Nurse with advanced skills, knowledge and expertise in clinical care coordination. The role supports the Clinical Nurse Consultant and Nurse Unit Manager to ensure that discharge/transfer planning, off site clinical care planning and telehealth services within the Prison Health Service facility, meets high quality nursing standards, the expectations of the health service and consumers.

• Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and written communication skills to enable accurate, complete, and timely reporting of clinical care and care planning designed to ensure healthcare teams are capable of supporting and delivering patient-centred care.
• Demonstrated ongoing professional development of self and the facilitation of an environment that encourages lifelong learning, mentoring and support for colleagues.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, foster, and encourage a culture of mentoring and support for all nursing staff within the Prison Health Service through all stages of the clinical journey, supporting timely resolution of clinical needs and challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to consider data, audit results in order to improve the health care of a particular client/patient cohort.
• Demonstrated ability to undertake quality activities and implement evidenced based practice initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Mandatory possession of a nursing qualification from a registered tertiary institution or completion of an approved hospital training program and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
• Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
• Possession of a post graduate nursing qualification would be highly desired for this position.
• Corrective Services Criminal History Checks:
  Persons engaged in the Offender Health Services Branch or providing health services in correctional facilities are relevant persons under the Corrective Services Act 2006. Division 2 of the Corrective Services Act requires all relevant persons to undergo a Corrective Services criminal history check to assess their suitability to undertake work in a QCS facility.

Our offer:
You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $141,363 p.a., comprising salary between $121,352 - $123,898 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade Permanent Full Time, 76 hours p.f.)
