About the Role
 
Due to the continued growth of the Port Lincoln Learning and Experiences hub, an additional casual role has become available with shifts offered Monday to Friday and some Saturdays from 9.00am to 3.00pm. This role supports clients across a variety of community engagement activities including swimming, outdoor adventures and Social Saturdays, as well as center-based activities such as science, music, technology and photography classes within Bedford's purpose-built learning hub. The focus of the role is on empowering people with disability to achieve their goals and develop new skills within a supportive, positive, and fun environment.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Provide 1:1 or 1:4 support
  • Support clients to achieve their NDIS goals
  • Complete progress and incident reports
  • Work with clients to promote individual choice and control
  • Provide transport to clients as required
  • Provide personal care, including assistance with dressing and toileting when required

About You

As an experienced and qualified support worker you will have knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards, Code of Conduct and Quality and Safeguarding Framework. You will have a person-centred approach, and a genuine passion for working with people with a disability to support them in achieving their goals and building new skills. As a bonus, you may have the opportunity to share your own hobbies, skills, or passions with the clients, contributing to the success of our growing Learning and Experiences program.

Other knowledge, skills and attributes include:

  • Minimum Cert III in Disability (or equivalent)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Ability to complete comprehensive and accurate client notes
  • A positive focus on empowering clients

For this role the following documents must be provided prior to a formal offer of employment with Bedford.

  • A National Police Clearance (no older than six months old)
  • Driver's licence
  • NDIS worker screening clearance, or other NDIS approved clearance to work in the disability sector
  • Evidence of right to work in Australia
  • 100 points of identification
