Role Description
The Principal Experience Designer is a newly created opportunity in our Customer Business Unit based at our Perth City site.

This position sits within the Products & Services team, part of the Marketing function in Synergy's Customer business unit. The role is focused on shaping Synergy's customer experiences through a customer-first lens, crafting experiences that are deeply aligned with both Synergy's strategic goals and the broader objectives of the Customer business unit.

As a key driver of customer-centric innovation, this role plays a pivotal part in evolving Synergy's approach to customer experience and designing its future-state journey.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of an end-to-end customer journey using Human-Centred Design (HCD) methodologies. Design, test, and validate experiences that are grounded in a deep understanding of customer needs and behaviours.
• Partner with the Customer Experience team to develop and embed the Customer Experience (CX) Strategy, CX Measurement practices and the Channel & Service Strategy across the organisation.
• Ensure customer experience initiatives are aligned with strategic business goals, striking the right balance between what customers want and what the business can deliver.
• Work closely with teams in marketing, product development, and technology to embed customer experience design into the broader business strategy, and helping build understanding and capability across the organisation.
• Design and lead qualitative interviews and usability testing. Synthesise insights to inform and refine design decisions.

What You Will Bring

• Formal qualifications or equivalent hands-on experience in discovery and design methodologies, including Design Thinking, Human-Centred Design (HCD), and Service Design frameworks.
• At least 8 years of proven experience applying customer experience (CX) or user experience (UX) methodologies in complex environments.
• Minimum of 5 years actively applying Design Thinking and HCD principles to shape customer-centric solutions, preferably with some experience in either qualitative research methods, UX design or User Interface (UI) design.
• Demonstrated success leading customer experience initiatives within an agency or organisational setting, driving strategic outcomes and embedding CX practices.
• Hands-on experience with customer experience and design platforms such as Miro, Figma, or similar.
