Plumber - Defence

The RoleMI Plumbers plays a key role in supporting the operational readiness of Defence facilities through specialised plumbing and maintenance services. We are now seeking an experienced plumber to strengthen our team

Reporting to the Defence Manager, this role will see you working autonomously across various Defence bases in both the metropolitan & regional areas, performing planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of hydraulic systems, facilities, and equipment.

This role is a great opportunity for someone to take the next steps towards management and leadership whilst retaining their core skillsets in the field.

Key Duties

• Lead in field operations, taking ownership of their role and the service they provide to the customer.
• Ensure efficient and effective installation, maintenance, and repair of various hydraulic systems across the bases.
• Supervision of additional support technicians & apprentices as required when additional works arise. Including subcontractors and visitor escorts.
• Carry out mandatory documents including but not limited to permits and SWMS in line with tasks
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent

Skills & Experience

• WA Driver's Licence
• Trade qualification in plumbing
• Gas Fitter Licence – preferred but not essential
• Basic understanding of MS Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc)
• The ability to interpret plans and drawings.
• High Risk Work Licence - highly regarded
• Civil excavation experience - highly regarded
• A current Baseline Defence Clearance (DCAC) will be highly regarded but not essential
