Role Description

This is a full-time Intermediate Accountant position based in Melbourne, VIC, with a hybrid work arrangement allowing flexibility to work from home for part of the week. The role involves preparing financial statements, tax returns, and business activity statements for a variety of clients. Key responsibilities include performing reconciliations, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Additionally, you will provide business advisory services and assist with the implementation of innovative financial strategies for clients.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical accounting skills, including knowledge of financial statement preparation and tax compliance
  • Proficiency in account reconciliations and preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS)
  • Ability to deliver tailored business advisory services and develop financial strategies
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients and team members
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CA qualification (or working towards it) preferred
  • Time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines effectively
  • Previous experience in public practice accounting is highly desirable
