The OrganisationStep into a pivotal leadership role with a progressive and fast-growing healthcare organisation committed to delivering world-class patient care. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a Senior Theatre Manager or Nurse Leader ready to take the next step into a Director of Nursing position.
Overseeing a premium day surgery facility, you'll be supported by an experienced executive team and empowered to lead a highly skilled clinical workforce. This is a long-term leadership opportunity where you'll play a key role in shaping the growth strategy and continuing to raise the bar in surgical excellence.
The RoleAs the Director of Nursing, you will provide hands-on clinical leadership, strategic oversight, and operational management of the surgical unit on site. Your expertise in perioperative care, along with a proactive approach to clinical governance, quality improvement, and staff mentoring, will ensure best practice standards are maintained across every aspect of the patient journey.

Key Responsibilities- Provide strong, visible leadership and mentorship to a multidisciplinary team
- Oversee the clinical operations of the day surgery and specialist clinics
- Ensure compliance with National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards
- Drive clinical governance, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives
- Monitor and manage budgets, resources, and performance outcomes
- Foster a positive, high-performing culture with a focus on safety and excellence
- Experienced DON, or Theatre Manager with a solid background in perioperative or day surgery settings
- Demonstrated capability in team leadership, staff development, and operational management
- Strong working knowledge of NSQHS Standards, accreditation processes, and clinical governance frameworks
- Proficient in budget management and P&L oversight
- Passionate about delivering high-quality care and achieving outstanding patient outcomes
- A collaborative leader with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- A senior director/leadership role in a stable, supportive, and growth focused organisation
