Corporate Finance Analyst

About the role

Bluecurrent is a leading provider of innovative smart metering services and solutions in New Zealand and Australia. As a B2B company, we partner with leading energy retailers and distributors in New Zealand and Australia.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Finance Analyst to join the dynamic finance team as Bluecurrent continues to grow. In this role, you will provide strategic insights and data-driven recommendations to support commercial and corporate decisions in line with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed financial analysis and modelling to support commercial and corporate finance activities.
• Analyse market data to forecast future trends and assess potential impacts on the business.
• Assist in the preparation and presentation of insights, forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management.
• Assist in the evaluation and execution of M&A opportunities, including due diligence and integration planning.
• Support the linkage of budgeting and forecasting processes to long term corporate modelling and value.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. Assist in the preparation of documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.

Who we are looking for

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have 3-4 years of experience working in corporate advisory, professional services or within large and complex corporate environments. You will have a CFA/FMVA/CA qualification alongside a degree in finance, business, economics, engineering, science, or a related field.

You will bring a continuous improvement, analytical and problem-solving mindset and 3-way financial modelling expertise. You will have the ability to work within large infrastructure cash flow models and associated investment management principles (IRRs, NPVs, valuation techniques).

Excellent verbal and written communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills are required, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and with all stakeholders.
