Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-friendly Retail Salesperson to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving, checking, and displaying stock while providing excellent customer service in adherence to our retail SOPs and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock Management:
• Receive, check, and examine stock using a PDA in accordance with retail SOPs.
• Print accurate labels and place them correctly on stock items.
• Assist with monitoring, controlling, and rotating stock effectively.
• Participate in physical stock takes as required.
• Display and Presentation:
• Bring meat from the cool room and display it on fridge trays, ensuring it is inviting and appealing.
• Replenish frozen products in the display freezer.
• Customer Interaction:
• Serve customers promptly, assisting with inquiries and providing product knowledge including cooking suggestions.
• Acknowledge and engage customers over the counter, providing a friendly and welcoming experience.
• Meat Preparation:
• Cut and trim meat as requested, weighing and wrapping products accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness of counters and ensure that fridge windows are clean during non-customer hours.
• Sales Processing:
• Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently at the checkout.
• Collect payments, process returns according to company policy, and provide accurate change to customers.
• Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change as needed.
• Customer Service Excellence:
• Resolve customer complaints and provide relevant information to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Farewell customers warmly, inviting them to return.
• Engage in cross-selling and suggest additional meat products to customers during interactions.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work cohesively with team members to achieve store sales goals and maintain a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in a retail or grocery setting is a plus, particularly in meat or food handling.
• Skills:
• Strong customer service and communication skills. Multi-lingual is essential especially Asian languages such as Mandarin or Cantonese.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of food handling and safety procedures.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move products and work in a refrigerated environment is essential.
