About the Service
Be part of a service that plays a pivotal role in welcoming new life into the world. Tamworth Maternity Services supports around 1,200 births every year and is a key higher-risk maternity centre within the Northern Sector of the Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD).
As a Level 3 acute services maternity unit, we provide exceptional care across the entire maternity journey – from antenatal through to intrapartum and postnatal care. Our service includes:
- A 20-bed inpatient ward with low- to high-risk birthing suites
- A dedicated Antenatal Clinic in the Acute Services Building
- Access to midwifery-led care, shared care, and high-risk specialist obstetric services
We also serve as a referral centre for women across the Northern Sector and work closely with community services like the Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Health Service (AMIHS) to ensure maternity care is culturally safe, inclusive, and accessible.

About the Role
As our Ward Clerk, you'll be the welcoming face of the Maternity Unit, providing essential administrative support to keep our ward running smoothly. You'll interact directly with patients, families, and healthcare teams, helping to create a positive and professional environment for everyone.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

- Hospital systems
- Ward workflows and procedures
- Medical terminology and documentation
