Landscape Architect

Citicene Landscape Architects – Brisbane Suburbs (≈ 10 km from CBD)

Are you a landscape architect who delivers - someone with strong communication, client and consultant skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the drive to take a project from concept through to construction? At Citicene, we design landscapes that respect culture, restore nature, and respond to climate change. If you want to make real impact, lead projects, and be part of a team where your work is seen, valued, and respected - this is for you.

About Us

At Citicene, we believe that landscapes are more than aesthetics. They are essential infrastructure for liveability, resilience, and sustainability. Our projects span public realm, commercial, residential, logistics hubs, master-planning, and visual impact. We're proud of our technical rigor as much as our design beauty - Green Star-aligned outcomes, detailed planting, climate responsive design, and strong delivery through approvals and construction.

Our studio is based ~10 km from Brisbane CBD, in a well-connected suburban location. We offer easy parking, a calm workspace, and less commuter stress - while still staying close enough to city vibrancy.

The Role

We are seeking a Landscape Architect who will:

  • Lead and manage medium-to-large projects from early concept through detailed design, documentation, approvals, and construction supervision.
  • Coordinate and communicate clearly with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal team members.
  • Ensure high standards in documentation, quality control, plant selection, material detailing, and sustainability outcomes.
  • Take responsibility for meeting project timelines and budgets; manage multiple tasks and project priorities.
  • Help retain the design culture and quality within the team.

What You Bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Landscape Architecture (AILA accreditation preferred).
  • 4-8+ years (or more) post-graduate experience in design, documentation and project delivery.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to explain design ideas, negotiate with consultants/authorities, give clear instructions.
  • Strong technical skills: AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite; knowledge of the typical software packages.
  • Deep understanding of construction techniques, plant selection, sustainable design, local Australian standards.
  • A sense of ownership: you care about your work, attention to detail, and you like to see things built.
  • Ability to work collaboratively but also independently when needed.

What We Offer

  • A role with high responsibility & real project ownership - see your designs come to life from concept to construction.
  • A studio culture where your work is visible, valued, and respected.
  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
  • Flexibility: work-hours flexibility and hybrid options if needed.
  • Support for professional growth: training, development, industry events, mentoring, and exposure to technical expertise.
  • Meaningful projects: contribute to sustainable, climate-resilient, and transformative landscapes that make a real impact.
  • Suburban workspace: easier parking, less hustle, calmer environment while still delivering highly professional projects.
  • Opportunities for networking, collaboration, and learning through industry engagement, conferences, and workshops.
