Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a

multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for a Systems Engineer in Canberra to work on Joint projects
.

What You'll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:

  • Engineering & Configuration Management
    : Develop and support technical and communication processes for managing the enduring OFFICIAL: Sensitive capability.

  • Technical Authority Role
    : Attain and maintain Technical Authority within the JC2SPO CAF16 engineering management system.

  • Cross-Team Coordination
    : Facilitate technical communication between ADF EFB sustainment and CAF16 Engineering teams to progress tasks.

  • Verification & Safety Support
    : Contribute to system verification/validation documentation and provide input to safety assessments and risk mitigation.

  • Stakeholder Engineering Support
    : Deliver system-related engineering advice to AWC and ADF EFB capability management representatives.

What You'll Bring

  • CASG Engineering & Configuration Experience
    : Proven engineering and configuration management experience within a CASG sustainment environment.

  • Systems Engineering Expertise
    : Familiarity with Defence-related systems engineering practices, including SEMP, certification plans, and requirements management.

  • Defence Documentation Skills
    : Experience producing high-quality technical and administrative documentation aligned with ADF standards.

  • Strong Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
    : Excellent written and oral communication skills with a focus on building stakeholder relationships.

  • Analytical & Innovative Thinking
    : Well-developed conceptual skills and the ability to apply innovative solutions to benefit Defence stakeholders.

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum
Negative Vetting 1
or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
