About the role:

We are seeking a skilled Metal Worker/ General Hand to join our dynamic team at Sonic Steel in Brooklyn 3012. This full-time position is integral to the expansion of our mixed operations, including: shipping container repair and mainternance, shipping container home and metal fabrication. As a Metal Worker/ General Hand, you will be responsible for a range of hands-on tasks that contribute directly to our high-quality work.

What you'll be doing:

  • Performing shipping container repairs and maintenance as per client's requirements;
  • Performing various metal fabrication and assembly tasks such as welding, cutting, bending, and finishing metal components;
  • Performing various tasks and procedures to fabricate and construct modular shipping container homes;
  • Operating power tools, machinery, and equipment required for the production and processing of steel products;
  • Conducting quality checks and inspections to ensure standards are met;
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment;
  • Collaborating with the production team to optimise workflows and identify areas for improvement;
  • Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience in a metal fabrication or machinist role, preferably in the manufacturing, transport, or construction industry;
  • Strong practical skills and proficiency in using power tools and machinery;
