About the Role

This is an opportunity to join a diverse and collaborative team in the Shaping Futures and Data Insights Branch within The Cabinet Office.

Shaping Futures and Data Insights is the NSW Government's central strategic foresight and intelligence branch that uses futures and data analytics techniques to deliver insights and advice to senior decision makers, develop strategic intelligence platforms and services and drive system reforms to enhance evidence-based policy, budget, and delivery decisions. The team supports decision makers navigate uncertainty, and anticipate and influence change so they can deliver positive outcomes for NSW communities.

The Senior Associate, Data Policy & Reform undertakes policy or project work to support The Cabinet Office intelligence and policy needs, contribute to The Cabinet Office's role in NSW and national data reforms, and assists in the design and delivery of projects that increase The Cabinet Office and sector data capability.

We're Looking For

  • Policy Development: Experience in cross-sectoral or cross-departmental policy settings with the ability to lead the development of evidence-based policy proposals
  • Project and Program Management: Skilled in planning, managing and delivering projects with the ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritise effectively
  • Data Literacy: Working knowledge of data systems, governance and analytics. Understands the role of data in driving insights and informing decisions
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to build and manage relationships across government, community and other stakeholders
  • Research and Analysis: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to undertake research and data analysis to identify trends and emerging issues.
