J&S Engineering and Maintenance have vacancies for Trades Assistants to join our Team in Rutherford Working with Boilermakers, Welders, Machinists, Fitters, NDT Technicians, other Trades Assistants and Support Staff.

J&S is a tier 1 service provider to the mining sector and this means that our people get to undertake a diverse range of unique, challenging, and fulfilling projects. This is a great opportunity to grow valuable skills and knowledge across multiple processes within a very well-equipped ISO9001 workshop.

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the Trades Assistant plays a key role in supporting our trades team. You will be hands-on in preparing equipment on arrival, operating forklifts and overhead cranes, organising and preparing items for dispatch, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. You'll also assist tradespeople with day-to-day tasks, including basic tool handling, equipment checks, and general workshop duties. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build practical skills, learn directly from experienced tradespeople, and grow within a supportive team environment. With opportunities for further training and upskilling, this position can be the first step towards expanding your career in the trade industry
