What you'll be doing

We are hiring for a Graduate Consultant and Operational Support Technician roles, hybrid positions with a 60/40 split between field and office/home office work. This is an excellent opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate looking to take the first step in a career in technical science, healthcare, or other professional sectors. As part of this casual position, you will have the potential to grow into a full-time role within the company.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Technical & Operations Support Portfolio Manager, you will play a vital role in assisting our team with water quality monitoring and inspection tasks across various facilities, including hospitals, healthcare sites, and mine sites. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and executing water quality sampling and testing programs
  • Entry of critical data into various platforms, including Water Quality Compliance Tools
  • Monitoring and maintaining field equipment, both hardware and software (including calibrations)
  • Building and maintaining relationships with client site contacts
  • Liaising with internal teams, laboratories, and other stakeholders
  • Managing accurate records and maintaining internal registers via spreadsheets and databases
  • Drafting monthly water quality summary reports and presentations
  • Monitoring and notifying water quality sampling result exceedances to the relevant parties
  • Assisting with scheduling shifts and incident response management

About You

We are seeking individuals who possess:

  • A positive, 'can-do' attitude and a proactive approach and a passion for executing work with excellence
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills as well as a high level of initiative, organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
  • A current Australian driver's license and access to a vehicle for work-related travel
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite, especially excel, Power BI is highly beneficial
  • Ability to commit to a minimum 3 full days per week with the ability to increase availability with an increase in workload over a period of 3 – 12 months or as agreed with line manager
  • Applicants with an engineering / life sciences / environmental sciences / Occupational Health & Safety background or with relevant experience in the industries and with a keen interest in healthcare, mining and experience in data management will be considered favourably.
  • Applicant should have working rights within Australia that allow them to work freely without any restrictions for at least a minimum period of 18 months.
