Rise and drive We're looking for a legend to lead our delivery team.

At Big Loaf in O'Connor, we believe bread is life—and it's even better when it shows up fresh, on time, and with a smile. We bake for our own shops plus 40+ wholesale customers across Perth, and we need a Driver Supervisor who's not afraid of early mornings (we're talking Monday to Friday, 2:00am to 10:00am), good banter, and the occasional flour dusting.

This role is part leader, part driver, part logistics guru, and full-time bread hero. You'll be the vital link between our bakers, drivers, and customers—making sure everything runs like a well-oiled sourdough starter.

What You'll Be Getting Up To

Before the Sun's Up (Pre-Run Duties):

  • Catch up with the bake team to check for delays or dramas
  • Review the night packer handover and sort out any quirks
  • Oversee slicing, labelling, and packing (and sneak a whiff of fresh bread)
  • Print and prep delivery paperwork like a boss
  • Supervise the morning rush and make sure drivers are good to go
  • Double-check vehicle safety inspections – no dodgy vans here

During the Run:

  • Hit the road yourself – yes, you'll do a delivery run too
  • Keep tabs on customer changes or issues and update delivery info
  • Wave at regulars, keep your cool with traffic, and maybe enjoy a sunrise

After the Run:

  • Check in with every driver
  • Make sure vans are clean and damage-free (no mystery crumbs)
  • Confirm they're ready to roll for the next day

The Fun Admin Stuff:

  • Track delivery stats and on-time % (we love a good graph)
  • Take action on customer feedback – we actually listen
  • Train new drivers (and join them for their first couple of runs)
  • Help interview new team members
  • Jump in to help in the bakery or on extra deliveries when needed
  • Spot-check processes and coach the crew when needed
  • Report to our Operations Manager (who also likes bread, a lot)
What You Bring to the Table (Besides Snacks):
  • Experience in delivery driving or team leadership (bonus if it's in food)
  • An early bird vibe – 2am starts are your jam
  • Great communication skills and a calm head under pressure
  • A valid driver's licence - manual is essential
  • A team-first attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves
  • Sense of humour optional, but strongly encouraged
  • Valid working rights for Australia
