Senior Solicitor for an Australian Regulation Authority

Allygroup is searching for a Senior Solicitor to join a prominent regulation authority agency. This is a placement opportunity for lawyers with approximately five years PQE.

This is a high-tempo role with firm deadlines—perfect for agile thinkers who excel under pressure and thrive on complex challenges.

Candidates must be an Australian citizen, currently hold or eligible to hold a baseline clearance. This work is open to candidates from different locations, including ACT, NSW, VIC, QLD and SA.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver clear, effective, and timely legal guidance, particularly within your areas of specialised knowledge.

  • Advise and support teams on matters involving sensitive data, regulatory compliance, and contractual arrangements for outsourcing and procurement.

  • Contribute to departmental responses on law reform initiatives.

  • Collaborate with industry-facing supervision teams and internal stakeholders to co-develop strategic approaches to complex, emerging legal issues.

  • Assist the broader Legal team with stakeholder engagement activities.

  • Promote continuous enhancement of practices and processes within the Advisory Legal team.

What we are looking for:

  • Hold a current practising certificate.

  • Demonstrated experience providing legal advice within the superannuation, insurance, or banking sectors.

  • A background in corporate or commercial law is also highly valued.

  • Proven capability in managing complex projects and engaging with both internal stakeholders (including senior leaders) and external parties (such as regulated entities, their legal representatives, external law firms, and Counsel).
