The Role:
Working in the dedicated Affordable Housing and Market Solutions Team, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Affordable Housing Officer to implement strategies, policies and agreements to support the delivery of more affordable housing in South Australia.
This role reports directly to the Senior Manager, Affordable Housing and Market Solutions and will see you responsible for:
- End-to-end management of contracts with the development sector to deliver affordable housing.
- Liaising with private sector developers, community housing providers, councils, planning authorities, other housing-related State and federal government agencies, and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinating, planning and researching information to facilitate affordable housing.
- Remaining up to date with current and developing urban planning issues by establishing and maintaining good working relationships with key entities responsible for urban planning and land development, including other government agencies and councils.
- Contributing to the development of policy and strategy to support affordable housing related initiatives across the department.
About You:
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:
- A comprehensive understanding of, and interest in, the built environment sector (such as housing, urban design, property development, conveyancing, urban planning, housing infrastructure, the State's 15% Affordable Housing Policy and Affordable Housing Overlay).
- High level organisational skills and proven ability to effectively manage tasks to meet agreed priorities and deadlines.
- Experience in presenting complex issues and findings verbally and in writing to internal and external stakeholders.
- High level interpersonal and contract management skills, including an ability to represent views, and to negotiate successfully.
- Ability to develop collaborative and effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders, internal and external to government.
- Experience in gathering information from a variety of sources, analysing content to develop solutions and generating alternative options to achieve business outcomes.
Desirable Qualification:
Tertiary qualifications in project management, conveyancing, construction management, urban and regional planning or another relevant tertiary qualification (desirable).
Special Conditions
- Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.
Remuneration:
ASO5 – $85,790 min – $95,413 max
