Handyman/Maintenance Person

The Lower Plenty Hotel is seeking a mature, energetic and experienced Maintenance/Handyman to join our team.

Lower Plenty Hotel is an award-winning hotel situated in an idyllic setting amongst the gum trees and prides itself on presentation and standards.

The hotel itself, and the surrounding grounds are extensive requiring constant care and cultivation, we are looking for that someone who will proactively make it their own pride and joy.

The Role:

The minimum required for this role is 6 hours per day, five-days a week with a 6.30am start

and offers the flexibility of working weekend and public holidays.

This is a casual role with a view to full time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform day-to-day general maintenance duties within the hotel and outdoor areas

· Respond promptly to maintenance issues

· Working from heights, is required

· Liaise with trades when required

· Maintain all tools, and ensure all equipment, and working areas are in proper condition

· Ensure our high-quality standards are maintained in the presentation of the Hotel and the surrounds

· Basic gardening duties

· A solid understanding of Workplace Health, Safety and Environmental standards

The successful candidate will have:

· Strong attention to detail and pride in your work

· Previous maintenance experience, preferably in a similar role

· Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills

· A positive can-do attitude

· Ability to work without close supervision and within established timeframes

· Strong work ethic

· National police check no more than 12 months old
