Salary Information: $76,515 plus superannuation per annum
Responsibilities:
- Study plans and specifications to determine the layout of gas installations, heating systems and required materials.
- Rough-in gas piping systems, including cutting pipes, installing pipework through underfloor spaces, walls and roof spaces, joining pipe sections and securing all pipe runs.
- Install and connect gas appliances such as boilers, heaters and hot water units, ensuring correct ventilation, flueing requirements and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Fit-off gas systems, including installing valves, regulators, safety devices and associated fittings.
- Conduct pressure testing, leak detection and commissioning of gas systems in accordance with Victorian plumbing and gasfitting regulations.
- Assist with the installation of hydronic heating systems where gas-powered components are used.
- Ensure all work meets OHS and gas safety compliance requirements.
- Maintain clean, safe and hazard-free worksites.
- Work under the guidance and direction of the Plumbing/Gasfitting Supervisor.
Skills and Experience:
- Enjoy practical and hands-on work.
- Able to undertake manual and physically demanding tasks.
- Able to work in underfloor spaces and roof cavities.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team and follow direction.
- Strong awareness of safety standards and safe work practices.
Requirements:
- Current driver's licence (P-plates accepted).
- White Card.
- Work experience in Plumbing / Building & Construction (a minimum of one year within the last five years).
- Genuine interest in pursuing a career as a Gasfitter/Plumber.
- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3), OR at least three years of relevant experience where formal qualifications are not held.
- Willingness to complete required trade training.
Hubair Employees Will:
- Work full time (38 hours per week).
- Attend an accredited trade training facility as required.
- Receive ongoing mentoring and support from qualified tradespeople.
- Receive a weekly wage including all employment entitlements.
- Work in accordance with company workplace health and safety policies.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Maintain basic hand tools required to carry out daily tasks.
