About the role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chaplain to become an integral part of our College community, bringing a faith-based perspective to all areas of College life.
As a spiritual leader within the College, the Chaplain plays a vital role in nurturing the Christian faith and supporting the spiritual and pastoral wellbeing of students, staff, and families. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the Anglican identity of the College, fostering a sense of community, compassion, and service.
The role includes leading and officiating regular Chapel services and other key College events. It is also expected that the Chaplain will contribute to the teaching program, ideally in Religious Education or another subject area suited to their qualifications and experience.
Duties
As a Chaplain, you will:
- Participate in the College's pastoral care program
- Provide pastoral ministry and spiritual support to students, staff and families
- Create and coordinate worship experiences and Chapel services for students and staff
- Participate in school assemblies and special events
- Provide support and advice for staff in the integration of aspects of the Christian faith into their day to day teaching and classroom activities
- Contribute to the development delivery of religions and values education (RAVE) throughout the College (P – 12)
Skills and experience required
- Eligible to be granted a ministry licence by the Bishop of the Northern Region
- University degree or professionally recognised qualification in theology and/or pastoral ministry
- Formal qualifications in Education (teacher)
- Current QCT registration
- Chaplaincy experience in an Independent school context or other environments involving extensive work with young people (highly desirable)
- Ability to communicate positively and effectively with staff, students and the wider school community with maturity and discretion, especially on spiritual matters
