About the Role

We are seeking experienced Software Engineers to build products, backend systems, and infrastructure. You will own and deliver entire features or projects end-to-end and be foundational to the culture we build at Facere.

You will thrive in this role if:

  • You are passionate about building products and delivering elegant user experiences
  • You are excited to join a startup and ready to contribute to cutting-edge innovation
  • You have strong software engineering and computer science fundamentals
  • You have at least 3 years of commercial experience building products or backends with Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL, or;
  • You have at least 3 years experience building web frontends with React
  • You have excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • You value in-person collaboration with your team

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable frontend/backend systems and APIs.
  • Build and own features end-to-end — from concept, design, implementation, to deployment and maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver user-focused solutions.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code.
  • Optimise application performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to build shared team knowledge.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction of the product.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation and process enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues as they arise.
  • Help foster a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture.
