Situated half-way between the Gold Coast and Brisbane, DRM is the region's newest food and entertainment hub, boasting weekend markets, events, functions and live entertainment, trading Thursday - Sunday every week.
DRM is home to Perentie Brewing Co, housing the Perentie Kitchen, Brewery and Beer Garden as well as multiple specialty bars and food venues, including Sugar Creek Smokehouse, Posadas Mexican Kitchen, Wing It, Slice It Pizza, with more to come, as well as an expansive Outdoor Entertainment space and indoor Market Hall.
About the Role:
The Food & Beverage Events Supervisor role will help lead the charge in delivering seamless, standout events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale conferences and celebrations. You'll work closely with the F&B Manager, Events team and other relevant team members, providing leadership and guidance while also providing administrative and operational support.
Key responsibilities:
- Overseeing all aspects of event planning and execution.
- Liaise with clients to understand their event needs, provide tailored solutions, and build strong relationships.
- Coordinate all aspects of event planning and delivery, including logistics, catering, AV, staffing, and décor.
- Manage event bookings and details using current systems and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Assist the F&B Manager and Assistant Manager with operational duties, including managing a team of skilled bartenders, chefs and food attendants
- Supervise event staff and ensure smooth and efficient event operations.
- Work collaboratively with the Operations Team team to ensure seamless execution.
- Maintain accurate records, run sheets, and event documentation, and prepare post-event reports.
- Oversee sales activities, including responding to inquiries, preparing proposals and contracts, and actively pursuing new business opportunities.
- Ensure all events are executed in line with quality, safety, and customer service standards.
- Oversee budget management and cost control for events.
- Identify and resolve any event-related issues or challenges in a timely and effective manner.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Employee training and development
- Employee health, safety monitoring and reporting
- Roster and timesheet management
Required skills and experience:
- Proven experience in event coordination or hospitality/event management, preferably with some experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong administration and sales skills, with experience in preparing proposals and contracts.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong Food and Beverage service skills and product knowledge.
Proven ability to lead and motivate team members
- Proven time management and organisational skills
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing environments
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure.
