**What's the role?**

  • You are responsible for sourcing, writing, and producing compelling journalism at The Advertiser tailored for a South Australian audience.

  • Your task involves finding exclusive angles on the most significant stories from around the state and proactively chasing down leads to secure unique perspectives that will be followed by others.

  • Covering both national and global breaking news is an essential aspect of your role.

  • Utilise social media to stay updated on trending topics and generate fresh story ideas.

  • Your role includes pitching and delivering distinctive content that stimulates discussions, encourages engagement, and promotes reader engagement and audience growth.

  • Employ analytics to make informed decisions about future story selections, ensuring new insights on popular subjects.

  • You will be expected to work some weekend shifts and occasionally outside of regular hours to provide coverage for special events.

**Who are you?**

  • You are a successful news reporter, boasting a minimum of five years of experience in a bustling digital newsroom.

  • Your passion lies in uncovering breaking stories and securing exclusive perspectives on the prevalent topics dominating the national agenda.

  • You are highly motivated, brimming with innovative ideas, and benefit from a robust network of contacts that facilitate the breaking of major stories.

  • Your strong writing skills are complemented by a keen understanding of how to leverage headlines and images to captivate readers, with a strong desire for widespread readership being essential.

  • Possessing sound legal knowledge, you are adept at working independently and sourcing your own stories.

  • You exhibit an interest in actively engaging with and taking ownership of the finance topics that appeal to readers.

  • You have a comprehensive understanding of SEO principles and analytics, allowing you to optimize your content for maximum reach and impact.
