About The Role
This position conducts general labouring duties in the civil construction and maintenance field across the Townsville City Council area. Work delivered by the team includes Signage and Line marking.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
Mandatory
- Certificate II in Civil Construction or relevant experience.
- Construction Industry White Card QLD)
- Sound oral, written communication, numeracy and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively and professionally engage with others.
- Effective time and workload management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team to obtain team objectives.
- Demonstrated experience role modelling a positive safety culture and adherence to the Health Safety Management Systems through visible leadership and exercising due diligence and management of compliance and legislative obligations.
Desirable
- Current 'MR' Class Licence for (Preferred for Maintenance Labourer).
- Traffic Management Implementation (TMI) accreditation under the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, or ability to attain.
- Sound working knowledge of the Workplace Health & Safety Act, advisory standards, industry codes of practice and all other associated legislation and guidelines relevant to the position.
- Ability to safely operate a range of light plant, machinery and equipment associated with maintenance and construction projects.
- Plant Operators Certificates of Competency for the types and classes of plant utilised in this position.
- First Aid Certificate.
