The role

The Senior Director, Culture and Capability within the Office of the Deputy Director-General (ODDG), Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ), is a key member of the division's Leadership Team. At HIQ, we are shaping the future of health infrastructure delivery in Queensland. Our vision is to create an empowered, inclusive, and values-driven organisation that sets the benchmark for excellence. This role is central to achieving that vision by leading strategies and plans that drive organisational effectiveness, cultural transformation, and capability management programs.

You will work closely with the Deputy Director-General and HIQ Leadership Team and key stakeholders to shape a collaborative, high-performing, and delivery focused workplace culture. You will design and deliver culture and capability programs informed by data, oversee a comprehensive People and Culture Strategy covering workforce planning, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and organisational change, and provide expert advice to senior leaders. Building strong stakeholder relationships and ensuring ethical, effective governance will be central to your success.

The successful person

As the successful applicant you will be an experienced and strategic leader with a proven track record in delivering organisation-wide cultural and capability initiatives. Your ability to influence, collaborate, and drive meaningful change will be critical to succeed in this role.

You bring deep expertise in leading cultural and capability programs within complex organisations, supported by strong strategic thinking skills that allow you to connect and integrate diverse initiatives. Your talent for translating complex ideas into actionable strategies and engaging stakeholders with clarity and confidence sets you apart.

The successful candidate thrives in dynamic, change-driven environments and demonstrates exceptional communication, influencing, and leadership skills. Your collaborative approach builds trust and drives results, while your strategic mindset ensures projects are aligned, interconnected, and future-focused.

Experience in major organisational transformation, particularly within the public sector, combined with advanced knowledge of workforce planning and leadership development will be highly regarded.
