About the Role
As an IT Intern, you'll gain practical experience in IT networking, service desk operations, and cybersecurity. You'll contribute to day-to-day IT support functions while learning how to troubleshoot, secure systems, and maintain business-critical infrastructure. Success in this role means becoming confident in solving technical issues, delivering high-quality support, and applying your theoretical knowledge in a professional environment. This role is integral to keeping organisations running smoothly and securely.

You will be placed with a dynamic host organisation that values innovation and efficiency. The IT team is a key support function, helping ensure all employees can work productively and securely. The company offers a collaborative environment where interns can apply technical skills and gain exposure to real-world IT challenges.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level IT support to staff through phone, email, and in-person requests
- Assist in configuring, maintaining, and upgrading hardware, software, and network systems
- Support system security by applying patches and monitoring potential threats
- Document troubleshooting processes and update knowledge bases
- Collaborate with the IT team on projects such as system migrations, network improvements, or security initiatives
- Ensure all work aligns with company policies and industry best practices
Required Qualifications
- Currently studying or recently completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of networking, operating systems, or cybersecurity principles
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Eagerness to learn in a hands-on environment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated Mentor and Placement Consultant to guide, coach and offer career advice throughout the internship placement.
