The Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated Principal Structural Engineer to join our team in Melbourne. You will contribute to a variety of major infrastructure projects, as well as industrial and commercial developments; whilst providing technical guidance in a range of different structural materials for our junior team members. With offices Australia wide there is plenty of opportunity to collaborate across our multi-disciplinary teams. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Become a technical focal point and provide technical guidance for the structural team in Melbourne
- Apply engineering fundamentals to solve intermediate to advanced engineering solutions
- Liaise with clients and design technicians and other team members to deliver practical solutions
- Manage clients, prepare fee proposals and tender documentations
- Provide technical guidance to junior members of the team
What you bring:
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in structural design
- Indepth experience in structural engineering design and already obtained Engineers Australia Chartered Professional Engineering Status or equivalent
- Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering or higher
- Strong analytical thinking skills and a problem-solving mentality
- Willingness to contribute to technical guidance of junior members through mentoring and checking of technical documentation
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both with colleagues and clients
