We have a fantastic career opportunity for a Distribution Team Leader to join our team at our Wagga Wagga Manufacturing and Distribution facility.

Reporting directly to the Distribution Manager, this hands-on position will coordinate and supervise our afternoon shift Distribution team, maintain internal documentation and registers, and liaise closely with key Sales and Distribution stakeholders to ensure we meet our customer supply requirements. The successful applicant will be required to work afternoon shift 4pm to midnight, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Coordinating the afternoon shift Distribution team to meet production and distribution targets;

§  Operating a forklift, including loading and unloading vehicles;

• Reporting on daily and weekly targets/performance;
• Monitoring performance against budget;
• Ensuring all data, documentation and record keeping is accurate;
• Ensuring product quality and food safety is maintained through the continual focus on GMP, HACCP and hygiene control;
• Demonstrating safety leadership and leading a continual focus on Health and Safety and CoR compliance;
• Monitoring and reducing waste;
• Fostering a culture of continuous improvement;

§  Managing the cyclical rotation of all inventory/stock;

§  Driving a dynamic, versatile workplace with a "can do" supportive culture;

§  Chairing daily team meetings;

§  Acting as the contact person for distribution team members on your shift;

§  Monitoring the shift phone to ensure that there is always a point of contact available;

§  Coordinating overtime and shift coverage if required;

§  Maintaining a focus on whole business success, not just shift performance; and

§  Working closely with other team leaders and the Distribution Manager to ensure team performance is sustained and consistent across three shifts.

What we are looking for:

• LF Forklift license (essential);
• Previous Supply Chain operations experience within an FMCG or Food Services organisation;
• Strong people management and influencing skills;
• High digital dexterity with working knowledge of Microsoft suite and ERP systems;
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Transport Chain of Responsibility regulations;

· Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal;

• Excellent time management skills;
• High degree of attention to detail;
• Ability to build trust through commitment, care and leading by example;

· Agility to think quickly and problem solve in a fast-paced environment;

• Ability to effectively coach and mentor team members and lead by example to introduce change and collaboration;
• Experience with managing freight and related processes;
• Experience working in a cold store environment is preferable but not essential;
• Flexibility to work overtime; and
• Flexibility to work public holidays as required.
